Safety Mark

The Safety Mark is administrated by the Standards Mark system in accordance to the Standards Law, Regulations and directives: Standards (Definition of Standard Marks) Directive, 1992, and the Standards (Prohibition of Production of Goods) Directive, 1981.

What is a Safety Mark?

• It is the "twin brother" of the Standards Mark.
• The Safety Mark indicates that the products bearing it conform to the safety requirements set forth in the standards applicable to the product.
• A Safety Mark is granted to a product when the standard applicable to the product only includes safety requirements.
• Most safety standards are endorsed by international standards.

Advantages of the Safety Mark for the consumer

A product licensed to display a Safety Mark means that the product and quality control of the manufacturing processes passed their tests, demonstrating that the product is high quality and is safe to use.

Advantages of the Safety Mark for the manufacturer

• The product conforms to the safety requirements and its compliance with the Israeli and international standards
• Permits the option of participating in tenders of institutions and agencies that require the presence of a Safety Mark as a condition for participation.
• The license also grants the manufacturer a marketing advantage from the perspective of the consumer.
• A foreign manufacturer that markets its products in Israel may receive a license to mark its products with a safety Mark , thus simplifying the import of its products
