Game facilities

The Branch provides testing services for manufacturers, importers, local authorities, education institutions, and companies installing and maintaining playgrounds, physical fitness installations, and leisure installations.

The Branch conducts installations examinations, maintenance, and model and annual tests for playground installations (SI 1498), physical fitness installations (SI 1497), inflatable installations (SI 5387), water slides [hydro slides) (SI 1605). Additionally, surfaces for playground sites, including accessibility examinations, are conducted.

A professional technical team with a national spread conducts the tests and examinations under Israeli and international standards.

The standards apply to installations and units placed in playgrounds for the use of individuals or groups (not including "adventure parks" of sports and fitness unless those were installed as a part of a playground).

It is of importance that you know that the standards were determined after risk factors were considered. The standards detail requirements that will protect children against hazards, which may surprise them when they are using the installation following their purpose or using the installations in another foreseeable manner.

The standards for playgrounds were declared "Official Standard, Requiring a Stamp of Approval", which means that every installation on the playground must obtain a permit by the Standards Institution regarding its production, installation, and maintenance. The duty is expressed by tests and examinations conducted by the product manufacturer in Israel and abroad regarding the installer and checks conducted for current maintenance.
