Materials strength and materials tests
The branch is engaged in examining the accord with Israeli standards and foreign standards of a wide variety of products. The branch has a strength laboratory equipped with advanced professional instrumentation providing the ability for stretch and pressure tests of up to 100 tons, including dynamic loads of models or ensembles.
The Laboratories Certification Authority certifies the branch to conduct test of steel for concrete reinforcing in accord with SI 4466 Part 3 and testing mechanical features of metallic materials under the standard ISO 6892-1.
Additionally, the branch has a metallurgic laboratory allowing the execution of hardness tests, micro-structure, and more, of metallic materials.

- Raisable handrails for accessible toilets – SI 1918 part 3.1
- Failure inquiries in the field of metals and welding – Determination of the failure mechanisms in technical products and ensembles.
- Qualification for welders and welding processes – SI 1751, 127
- Metallic materials hardness tests, including micro-hardness tests following various standard scales – series SI 1123
- Execution of different mechanical tests (stretching metallic materials, bending, pushing) – under multiple standards and per applicability.
- Cutting and grinding wheels – SI 1836
