Toys, Furniture, and Infant Products
The Chemicals, Health, and Environment Laboratory tests, among other things, toys and products for infants and children for which official Israeli standards apply, in particular toys pursuant to Israeli Standard SI 562 and all its parts, which is based on European Standard EN 71, pacifiers pursuant to Israeli Standard SI 1157, and strollers, cribs, feeding chairs, etc.
The laboratory provides testing services required by legislation, such as tests required under the Free Imports Directive and tests pursuant to the specifications of a particular customer.
Tests are performed by Standards Institute of Israel experts pursuant to Israeli and foreign standards, using automated and innovative devices, which greatly shorten the testing process without affecting its quality. The laboratory has ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation from the ANSI-ASQ National Accreditation Board (ANAB) and recognition from the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) of the United States, enabling us to offer exporters optimal service.
Mechanical and chemical safety tests are performed. The mechanical aspect refers to immediate dangers, such as strangulation, fire, and trapping of the head, which are liable to cause serious injury or even death.
The chemical tests focus on the presence of heavy metals and other toxic substances that affect our health over the years, through hormonal effects (Bisphenol A, pathalates), neurological effects, or serious illnesses (lead and other heavy metals).
