Emission of greenhouse gases

The Standards Institution of Israel's Quality and Certification Branch verifies greenhouse gases declarations pursuant to the specifications of ISO 14064: Greenhouse gases.

The validations are pursuant to SI ISO 14065: 2013: Greenhouse gases — Requirements for greenhouse gas validation and verification bodies for use in accreditation or other forms of recognition. We validate emission reduction projects for the Ministry of Environmental Protection and organizations' reports on greenhouse gases emission reduction. The greenhouse gases validation plan enables validation of greenhouse gases declarations by two government mechanisms: the Greenhouse Gases Reporting and Registration System in Israel and the Support Plan for Investments in Greenhouse Gases Emission Reduction Projects. The Standards Institution of Israel offers a range of services to participants in the plans:

  1. Declarative validation of greenhouse gases findings by organizations and their compliance with international standards, such as ISO 14064-1: xx. All validations are performed pursuant to ISO 14064-3: Part 3: Specification with guidance for the verification and validation of greenhouse gas statements and ISO 14065.
  2. Declarative validation of greenhouse gases emission reduction in the reported project, pursuant to the specifications of ISO 14064-2: Greenhouse gases — Part 2: Specification with guidance at the project level for quantification, monitoring and reporting of greenhouse gas emission reductions or removal enhancements. All validations are performed pursuant to ISO 14064-3 and ISO 14065.

Every validated greenhouse gas declaration receives the Standards Institution of Israel's greenhouse gases validation mark.
