MUTUAL RECOGNITION AGREEMENTS BETWEEN THE STANDARDS INSTITUTE OF ISRAEL (SII) AND INTERNATIONAL PRODUCT TESTING ORGANIZATIONS
The Standards Institute of Israel has signed Mutual Recognition Agreements with international organizations for checking the compliance of products to international Standards.
-The Recognition procedure is based on reviewing of Test Reports for the Standards list included in each of the agreements.
-Under the agreements documentation is to be submitted to SII by the laboratory performing the tests, except in the case of toys and safety footwear, for which the importer may submit the Test Reports.
-An Application for Recognition shall include the Test Certificate and Test Report.
-If the Israeli Standard contains National Deviations (in addition to the adopted Standards), the laboratory may carry out the test; if the laboratory is unable to perform these tests, they are carried out in Israel, in which case a sample of the product must be sent to the SII.
-Attached is a list of the laboratories and the fields/Standards covered by the individual agreements with each one. Some of the agreements contain a list of areas involving electrical and electronic testing—in each area all Standards are recognised that have been published in the field in question by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC); in other areas such as mechanical equipment and chemistry a list of Standards is provided.
